Hello!
I can't believe that it's already been over 6 months since I last blogged! Since then, I've crocheted lots of things, but this post is about only one of those things....my "Wagon Wheel Afghan".
I bought the yarn SEVERAL months ago when there was a great sale and a coupon at A.C. Moore. The pattern I used is called "Old Time Charm", and once again, it's out of the same book as my "Log Cabin Afghan", "John Wayne Afghan", and my Springtime Afghan! I love most of the afghans in this book of mine, which is why I've now made four of them!
Anyway, for the fun part!
Working on this afghan was pretty fun, after a while I was ready to be done with it! I originally planned on making 70 squares, but as I made them, I realized 70 squares was going to be bigger than I wanted it to be, so I changed it to 35 squares.
After working on this afghan for a while, I took a long break and made other things, then last month I pulled it back out and decided it was time for me to finish it! It's not like me to put afghans away for a while!
Each square took a little while to make, I really love the pattern though! This afghan got it's name because I thought the center looked like a wagon wheel! The funny thing was the name reminded me of a song called "Wagon Wheel", it made it that much cooler! :)
A few nights ago I got super anxious to complete this afghan, so I stayed up late one night and finished the rest of my squares! As you may be able to see, I watched "Tangled"" while I crocheted that night. :)
The next day was Sunday and, when I got home from church, I finished my afghan by putting a very simple border on it...just double crocheted around it a couple of times to give it a more finished look! :)
Now for the really fun part!!! The finished product!!!
I love it and am super happy to have it finished!
Taking pictures of my projects is always so fun, it's one of my favorite parts!
Now it'll be time for me to get a head start on Christmas gifts...and make another afghan! :) KnitPicks.com had an amazing summer yarn sale and I couldn't resist! I'm trying to save that yarn for the winter though. :) My next blog post should be coming pretty soon, it'll be about my most recent crafting purchase! Can't wait! :D
Have a good day!
