Log Cabin Afghan
Hello! It has been a very long time since I last posted and I've gotten a lot accomplished, I won't write about all I've gotten done though, just some of the bigger things! Soon after I finished my "Ripple Afghan" I started and another afghan. I have a pattern book filled with different afghan patterns and my favorite one was the "Log Cabin" afghan, so I decided to order some yarn from knitpicks.com to make it. I was able to finish the afghan in under two weeks, it was so much fun to work on! It's been finished since the day before Easter, but I haven't felt much like blogging.
Here is a picture of all of my pretty yarn wound up nicely! It's "knitpicks brava sport" yarn, it's really soft and I was really happy with how far the yarn goes, I have a lot of leftovers, even after making and entire afghan!
This is my first completed square, the way the pattern worked up was really neat! There were a few things in the pattern that I hadn't done before, so it was great to learn something new!
It was really fun to watch the afghan come together, and I was REALLY happy with my color choices! =D
At this point in making it, it was time to sew the pieces together, which is always my least favorite part. However, it went super quick so that was a praise!
And here a few pictures of the finished product! I was, and still am, so excited about the way it ended up coming out!
I decided to make a different border than the one in the pattern book, I wanted to incorporate all of the different colors in the border.
This is definitely one of my favorite things I've ever made!
Some Smaller Projects
I love to make bookmarks, and try to think of some different kinds of bookmarks to make. A few weeks ago I tried making a cupcake bookmark and this is what I came up with!
I like how it sits at the top of the book, I think it looks cute! =)
I've also been doing some wood burning, it's been fun doing something a little different than what I usually do! I find all of my pictures online and try to copy them, then wood burn them.
I think chipmunks are adorable, and thought this little guy was pretty cute! |
This one is a picture copied from a cross-stitching website I like going on. The picture is called "Divinity", it's by Julie Fain. She has a lot of pretty silhouettes! The cross-stitch piece is a little too ambitious for me, so I decided to try to draw it myself and wood burn it.
When I came across this one online, I had to do it! I loved how it looked "black and white"!
I thought this one was cute too!
I also made a couple of baby afghans, this one is done with leftover scrap yarn.
This is my favorite of the two baby afghans, I like the looks of the black with the other colors.
This here is just something I thought was cute, it's a couch tissue box cover =)
Now for the doilies! I've made three since my last post! And am currently working on a crocheted tablecloth made out of size 10 thread!
This is my favorite doily out of the three!
This is a super long blog post, but it had been SO long since my last post that I had to update it! I've gotten a decent amount done these last few months, praise the Lord! I'm working on a few larger projects right now, so I haven't had as many "finishes" as I'd like, but that's okay! I hope to get better about posting, I had gotten good for a while, but haven't been as good lately!
Have a good day! =D
Beautiful! I recognize a few! And there's a couple i didn't get to see! I love the little cupcake, adorable! Keep up the good work!
